So when a friend suggest I read The Hunger Games I was all for the idea. I started reading on the bus, then after school, then before school then at school, in break , lunch and finally in lessons. I became so engrossed in the book it never came out my sight until I was finished. when I was finally finished I didn't stop there, I had to read the second then third.
Its a captivation tale set in a dark version of the future, when 24 candidates (tributes as they are called) enter a arena to fight to the death as a punishment for a rebellion that happened in the past. Watch out Battle Royal and Lord of the Fly's it's a kill or be killed world.
After watching the film I interviewed two people that watched the film and read the book.
1.Is the film as good as the book?
Yazmin: Yes
Ella: I don't ever think films are as good as the books, but as far as they go the film was brilliant.
2. If there were differences between the book and the film what were they?
Yazmin: Yes the mockingjay pin came from the wrong person, the film was really fast paced.
Ella: there was lots of differences but the biggest was that they missed out a whole friendship between Katniss and the Mayor of District 12's daughter.
3. Do you think they cast the characters correctly,if not which and why?
Yazmin: No katniss was to chubby, these people are suppose to be just getting by and having constant shortage of food. Gale was way to old, but there acting pulled them though.
Ella: At the beginning I didn't think so but as the film went on I changed my mind.
4. Which do you prefer the book or the film and why?
Yazmin: The book went into more detail.
Ella: The book defiantly
5. How did you feel when you finished the book?
Yazmin: The end was unsatisfying
Ella: I could not wait to start the next book
